Kraslava Secondary School began working. In the conditions
which were present after achievement of independence it was
a problem to create such an educational model of teaching
which would attract a demographic situation and create the
opportunity for integration in Latvian culture environment.
Start with the 1993/94 school year the school has been
multicultural and special cultures’ dialogue’s conception
was put into use our purpose for using this conception is to
interest the children and the parents in comprehending the
value of the culture and to encourage the interest and
respect for other people and their cultures, integrating
into the Latvian culture and language environment.
Since 02.05.1995. Kraslava
Secondary School No.3 has been called Kraslava Secondary
School ’’Varavīksne’’. There are 308 Russians, 270 Latvians,
111 Byelorussians and 63 Poles in our school now and this
reflects the national variety of our society. Such a
demographically situation which is usual in Latgale causes a
question :’’What must the common pattern of the public
education be like to give and opportunity for other
nationalities graduates to indegrate into the Latvian
society and attend prestigious high schools together with
the Latvian students? ’’ That is why the school is chosen
the way of multiculturalism as the basis of its work. It is
very important to learn yourself, your language and culture
to understand the rest. This way the main purpose for the
school to choose the educational pattern – the intercultural
education in the multicultural society.
78 teachers and 32 workers
work here, there are 35 forms at our school. |
